1. The short version
LFRP is for adults who write stories together. Inside your stories you have a lot of freedom: dark themes, villains, violence and romance are all part of fiction. What you write with a consenting partner is between the two of you.
A small set of things is never allowed, anywhere, and there are a few habits that make you someone people want to write with. That's this page.
2. Never allowed
These apply in every story, request, community, profile and message. Breaking them gets your account permanently banned, and where the law requires it, we report it.
- Sexual content involving minors, or characters described or depicted as minors, in any form.
- Non-consensual sexual content presented approvingly or for gratification. In-character conflict with appropriate framing and content warnings is allowed in Mature stories.
- Sexual or degrading content about real, identifiable people.
- Content that promotes, glorifies or gives instructions for real-world violence, self-harm, terrorism or illegal activity.
- Doxxing, harassment, threats or hate speech aimed at real people or groups.
- Sharing illegal material of any kind.
3. Ratings and content warnings
Every request and story is either All audiences or Mature. Mature is for violence, dark themes and adult relationships between consenting adults, and only people who have confirmed they're 18+ can see it.
Mature requests can tag what partners should expect (graphic violence, substance use and so on), and the premise is the place to spell it out, so people can decide before they apply. Rate honestly: an All audiences request that turns Mature without a conversation is a bad surprise for your partner.
4. Being a good partner
- Reply at the pace you promised. Your request says how often you reply. Life happens; when it does, say so in the OOC channel.
- Say when you're leaving. Disappearing hurts. If a story isn't working, tell your partner. They can put your seat on the Rescue Board and keep going.
- Talk out of character. Check in about limits, direction and pace. Your profile's Limits field is a good place to start.
- Respect a no. Declined applications, closed requests and blocks are final. Don't try to get around them with another account.
5. AI writing partners
AI partners and scene images only run in stories where everyone has turned them on. The rules on this page apply to what you ask the AI to write, just as they apply to what you write yourself.
6. Reporting and blocking
Use Report on a request, profile, character, story post or message (it's in the item's menu). In communities, reports go to that community's moderators; everything else comes to the LFRP team. Something without a Report button, or urgent? Contact us with a link and what happened.
You can block anyone from their profile or a community's member list. A blocked person can't see your requests, invite you or message you, and they aren't told. You can see and undo blocks in Settings.
Stories are private: our staff don't browse them. When something is reported, moderators can read the reported content, and every time they do it's logged.
7. What happens when rules are broken
Depending on what happened, we may remove content, limit what an account can do, or suspend it. Anything in “Never allowed” means a permanent ban. Making new accounts to get around a ban gets those banned too.
