Community Guidelines
Creating a safe, welcoming space for all roleplayers
Be Respectful
Treat others with kindness and respect. Everyone is here to enjoy creative writing. Disagreements happen, but harassment, hate speech, and personal attacks are never acceptable.
Examples: Don't insult someone's writing style, mock their characters, or make personal attacks. If you have a disagreement, address it privately and constructively.
Create Safe Spaces
Respect boundaries and comfort levels:
• Discuss content boundaries before starting an RP (violence, romance, mature themes)
• Respect "no" - don't pressure others into uncomfortable scenarios
• Use content warnings when introducing sensitive topics
• Remember the human - behind every character is a real person with feelings
• Honor fade-to-black requests - if someone wants to skip a scene, respect it
Good practice: "Hey, just to check - are you comfortable with [topic]? If not, we can skip/adjust it."
Communicate Clearly
Good roleplay requires good communication:
• Set expectations early about posting frequency, reply length, and style
• Be upfront about your availability and limits
• Address issues respectfully - if something isn't working, talk about it
• Ask questions if you're unsure about someone's intentions or plans
• Give notice if you need to take a break or leave an RP
Pro tip: Use out-of-character (OOC) notes when needed. Clear communication prevents misunderstandings and keeps stories flowing smoothly.
Respect Creative Freedom
Everyone has their own writing style:
• Don't gatekeep what "real" roleplay is
• Accept different styles - others may write differently than you
• Give feedback only when asked - unsolicited criticism isn't helpful
• Focus on compatibility, not changing others to match your preferences
• Don't control other characters without permission (no godmodding/powerplaying)
Remember: There's no "right" way to roleplay. Paragraph or novella, action or dialogue-heavy - all styles are valid. Find partners who match your vibe.
Content Policies
The following content is strictly prohibited:
• Illegal content - anything violating local, national, or international law
• Content sexualizing minors - zero tolerance policy
• Non-consensual sexual content - both fictional and real
• Doxxing or sharing private information - respect privacy
• Spam or commercial solicitation - this isn't a marketplace
• Impersonation or identity theft - be yourself (or your characters!)
• Hate speech or discrimination - based on race, religion, gender, sexuality, etc.
Reporting and Enforcement
If you encounter behavior that violates these guidelines:
• Use the block feature to protect yourself immediately
• Report the violation through our reporting system
• Provide context - screenshots and descriptions help us investigate
• Don't retaliate - let the moderation team handle it
We review all reports and take appropriate action, which may include:
• Warnings for first-time or minor violations
• Temporary suspensions for repeat or serious issues
• Permanent bans for severe violations or repeat offenders
• Reporting to law enforcement when legally required
Remember
These guidelines exist to protect the community and create a space where creativity thrives. When in doubt, ask yourself:
"Is this helping create a welcoming, creative space where everyone can enjoy writing together?"
If the answer is yes, you're probably on the right track. If not, reconsider your approach.
Thank you for helping make LFRP a great place to write and connect with fellow storytellers. Happy roleplaying!
